Meet the Leadership Team At The NeighborWorks Alliance of Texas
Roy Nash, President, and CEO of NeighborWorks Waco, is the Chair of the NeighborWorks Alliance of Texas. Roy Nash has over 38 years of experience in the housing and building industry. He serves on the Visibility and Resource Development Committee for NeighborWorks America as well as the NeighborWorks America HomeOwnership Steering Committee and the National NeighborWorks Association. He is the founding and current chair of the NeighborWorks organization. Nash is the current vice-chair of the Waco Housing Coalition, and he also serves on the boards of the Heart of Texas Builders Association, the Texas Association of Builder and the Heart of Texas Workforce Solutions. Nash graduated from Baylor University where he received a BBA degree in Business Management.
Kathy Flanagan-Payton, President, and CEO of Fifth Ward Community Redevelopment Corporation is the Vice Chair of the NeighborWorks Alliance of Texas. She and her organization oversee the implementation of the Comprehensive Community Revitalization of Houston’s Historic 5th Ward and act as a catalyst in fostering the collaborative efforts of an array of community service providers with a primary goal of improving the quality of life in a traditionally underserved community.
Elizabeth Alonzo-Villareal, Executive Director of NeighborWorks Laredo serves as Secretary of the NeighborWorks Alliance of Texas. Elizabeth Alonzo-Villareal holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration; and also is a certified Public Housing Manager. She has served on the NeighborWorks Laredo board of directors for seven years until January 2015, when she was hired as the executive director that leads the agency.
JoAnn B. DePenning, CEO at J DePenning Consulting, Inc. serves as the Administrator of the NeighborWorks Alliance of Texas. JoAnn is an affordable housing professional with over 30 years of affordable homeownership program experience. She is an educator focused on delivering the vital certification courses to professionals who work locally for housing and community development nonprofits throughout the country.
